Condor Posted February 18, 2018 #1 Posted February 18, 2018 About 4 days ago I started getting no secure protocol errors on a few of my web auction sites and they wouldn't open. Contacted my family tech and he was experiencing the same thing. There a couple of locals that worked fine. Now this morning when I go to a couple of local sites the thumbnail picks don't appear, just the pic address. And when I click on the address it goes nowhere. About 4 days ago I up dated my Win 7 (critical) and a couple of days ago Google released a chrome ad blocker which I guess was loaded automatically?? Anyway I'd sure like to get back to normal.. Anyone else having this problem??? BTW my phone works OK, and so does my Ipad... using apps... And now Youtube won't work. The circle just sits there and spins..... Yeesh!!!!!!!
SilvrT Posted February 18, 2018 #2 Posted February 18, 2018 Try a different web browser (if that's possible). If not, do a roll-back on the Windows update.
RandyR Posted February 18, 2018 #3 Posted February 18, 2018 I'm using Chrome Browser with Windows 10 and not seeing this problem. That said, I came here to look at the auctions that have been posted here recently, because I've started being email spammed by powersportsauction.com and I was wondering if it was something posted here that I looked at, and the website hacked my email address from some window cookie left on my system? That said. I've blocked that web address for email.
SpencerPJ Posted February 18, 2018 #4 Posted February 18, 2018 On my PC. Chrome is working fine. After an update last week, Edge is very erratic. I Googled issue, and others having same issues. My Edge browser even locks up at times now. It's a Microsoft thing right now.
SilvrT Posted February 18, 2018 #5 Posted February 18, 2018 I can't even count the number of times I've mentioned this here over the years ... try Maxthon ... I've been using it forever (at least since it was first released as MyIE). I tend to stay away from Microsoft web browsers of any kind ... too many problems ... same with Firefox. Chrome is generally OK but doesn't have many of the built-in features of Maxthon.
Condor Posted February 19, 2018 Author #6 Posted February 19, 2018 I get the problem with i.e. and chrome. Using Win7. I have been using Bitdefender as my wall, and it seems that the issue may be with it. My soninlaw removed his and installed Avast and the problem went away on his CPU. I also tried restoring but the restore failed. I'll probably do the swap tomorrow... Thanks for all the suggestions.
