FROG MAN Posted April 25, 2008 #1 Posted April 25, 2008 Yesterday my boss dropped his beautiful Harley in a accident. He was following a bread truck and his view was blocked to the events unfolding in front of the truck. A vehicle stopped suddenly causing the bread truck behind it to lock up all 6 wheels in a skid. My boss dropped his Harley trying to avoid hitting the bread truck. He walked away from it with only scratches and bruises but his Harley is a mess. His wife trying to make him feel better said it's only a bike I'll buy you a new one. He said no it's more then a bike. This was my FRIEND.It's more then a machine. It has a soul. Women just don't understand.
Lone Eagle Posted April 26, 2008 #2 Posted April 26, 2008 Gerald, glad to hear your boss is OK. I understand where he is coming from with his bike is his friend, BUT, if the wife told me she would buy me a new bike, hmmmm ......................... Only kidding, glad he is OK.
Marcarl Posted April 26, 2008 #3 Posted April 26, 2008 Glad to hear that he's ok. Bet the next ride won't be quite as close behind the one in front of him.
Animal Posted April 26, 2008 #4 Posted April 26, 2008 Maybe his wife doesn't (does she ride?) but I am sure the women here do! Glad your friend is okay. However, the second question outta my mouth when talking to a rider that has went down is how is the bike. And sometimes it's the first!
Yama Mama Posted April 26, 2008 #5 Posted April 26, 2008 Hey Froggie, I must agree with my friend Honey. When you say "WOMEN", I think in this case I would have said" WOMAN." I actually believe that I possibly love our bike more than Ron does. Our bike is part of our lives and like a child almost we have added things to make it our own. It is personal and it is what it is. I also think there are "Men" who could have said the same exact thing as his wife did. Just making a point. Hey another way of looking at this is now he can buy an RSV and find real "friendship" Mama
FROG MAN Posted April 26, 2008 Author #6 Posted April 26, 2008 I thought that might raise an eyebrow with the ladies her. As far as I know NO she does not ride. He took one of those stress relieving rides as things had not gone well on the job that morning. Nothing like a little riding therapy to clear your head.:whistling:
Yammer Dan Posted April 26, 2008 #7 Posted April 26, 2008 Wadren told me I could have a New one. Not interested! Want the "Blue Beast" back on the road....
Yama Mama Posted April 26, 2008 #8 Posted April 26, 2008 Boy isn't that the truth! We all need that now and then. Mama
Stratcat Posted April 26, 2008 #9 Posted April 26, 2008 Maybe his wife doesn't (does she ride?) but I am sure the women here do! Glad your friend is okay. However, the second question outta my mouth when talking to a rider that has went down is how is the bike. And sometimes it's the first!
