crossbowme Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Posted January 22, 2018 Last spring, I agreed with my friend that we would do a major road trip to the Gaspe Peninsula that August. I had a 06 Honda ST1300 (with lots of miles on it) and a 11 Star 1300 with not so many miles on it. I really didn't want to make this trip, and another planned for a few weeks later, with either bike. After I watched all the Yamaha lead-up ads I was interested in the Transcontinental and wanted more info, so off to my friend that owns a Honda/Yamaha/other stuff dealership. He told me what he knew and thought he would have his first bikes in by late July. That would be perfect and I could take my new bike on the Gaspe trip. However, late July came around and no new bikes. As luck would have it Honda had a special deal trying to move their F6B's, and since I used to own a Goldwing and no new Yamaha in sight, I went with the F6B. I have been very happy with the F6B and plan two trips this summer, each about three thousand miles. I really like long trips and in a couple of years I plan on driving to the US Southwest, West Coast and back the northern route. I'm thinking by then I will need a full blown tourer (again) such as the Goldwing Tour DCT, BMW K1600GL or the Transcontinental. I want to learn as much as I can about these bikes. So, that is why I'm on this site.
BlueSky Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Posted January 22, 2018 Welcome! You don't have to own a Venture to be a member. Lots of owners of many brands on this site.

XV1100SE Posted January 22, 2018 #4 Posted January 22, 2018 Welcome to the forum ! You'll find more information here on the new Venture as people get experience on it. There are a couple owners here.
VStarRider Posted January 25, 2018 #5 Posted January 25, 2018 I’m in the same place as the OP. I have owned two 1100 VStars, but moved up to an F6B about 2.5 years ago. I will be ready for another upgrade in two more years when my F6B has ~30 k on it. On my short list is the GW DCT, TC , Roadmaster, and who knows what other models from other manufacturers in response to the new flagships from these brands.
