YIKES!

 

Dropped by this place in South Phoenix this past weekend. They have one section that is almost all Yamaha. Saw 6 early 1st gens and 1 later model 1st Gen. Sad to see the bodies, engines and pieces just sitting there. No plastic at all...darn it! If you Google map the place...the Yamaha section is the entire Northwest quadrant of the yard.

Oh...saw this 1600. Totalled by insurance. They want $2300 for her. She looked pretty good...just road rash on right side. Someone has already put a claim on her....

Looks a lot like Sport Wheel just south of the Twin Cities in Jordan Minnesota. They have a lot of 1st Gen MK1s and a few 1st Gen MK2s but they have been striped of most the good parts or left to the elements with whats left. And yes the weeds grow up around all the bikes just like your picture shows.

,,,, thinkin out loud here but I think "Bobs" should be posted in the Az National Park brochure!!! I know,,,, I know I know I know,,,,,,,,, I am one sick - deranged - off beat lop eared 1/2% varmint but Tweeks and I could pull into a spot like that, flop the tent and spend a week just pawing around = South Rim,, eat your heart out .... DEFINITELY my kind of joint..
