I went south in 1985 from Nebraska and have never regretted the decision. North Carolina has mountains, beach and decent weather. My children love it here and have growing family. Make the choice and leave.

The dream.:draming: Sell everything and move southwest for us. I have it all planned but one thing. In going to sell grandma, grandpas nick nack paddy wack or large pieces of furniture that she or he gave the :bowdown:wife umteen years ago is a tear jerker. So I have it figured out. Picture this, a F-350 dually hauling a 30Ft trailer loaded with antique furnishings. Might start a trend!:rotf::rotfl:The Dream.

That aint real snow. Its just a dusting.

INDEED!! Them lop eared varmints need to move to West Michigan where "Full Fool Effect" (untrained weather men here still call it "Lake Effect") takes place.. My yard captured another 11" in the last couple days just from the jet wash/over spray from the Masters Machine!!! :big-grin-emoticon::thumbsup:

I use a warm mist humidifier in the winter to keep the air comfortable. I do not like the cool air (ultrasonic) humidifiers as they leave white dust all over the place. Trust me, it makes a big difference, Rod...

I scrapped my last windshield I thought in 1991. I left the NorthEast and header to Florida. I'm on the southwest coast, Guess what I had to scrape a dang windshield twice since I've been here!

I agree 100% with this. Life is to short to not enjoy where you live. I lived in the Seattle area for 15 years, aside from a decent food scene and plenty of ladies with ESL there is very little to like about it, traffic is unspeakable, cost of living is far too expensive for what you get and the overpopulation is bordering on the inhumane. Oh, and the rain, wow! it's soul crushing at best. I wasted a lot of time looking over the fence when I should have just jumped. I think it's all priority. I dont mind winter if it means lower population and milder summers. I dont mind lower wages if it means I avoid city life and all the expenses, frustrations and inconveniences that go with it. Traffic and crowds are a quick deal breaker for me, but it might not be for others. If your city/state does not fit your needs/wants than by all means, it's time for a move.

Some of the lowest wages in the nation coupled with some extra deplorable local/state gov make it less than ideal for working folks. I'm seeing a ton of opportunity in northern CO/southern WY, been eyeballing a couple acres and a rural house out that way. I never want to get more than a days ride from here though. Black Hills is motorcycling/ATV/offroad bliss outside tourist season, I may move to follow money and opportunity but this will always be Home.
