JimRoberts Posted April 25, 2008 #1 Posted April 25, 2008 Any idea where to get chrome parts for an 89? Things like the air intakes on the fairing, air vents on the side covers. Also is there a way to install a Ring of Fire on a Venture? Been told you can convert 1200 Goldwing rotor covers to make it work.
lonestarmedic Posted April 25, 2008 #2 Posted April 25, 2008 Most items will need to be custom made, modified, or purchased used. As the bike has been out of production for 25 years the markets is pretty dry. I haven't seen anythig on the ring of fire. Usually when I find something at a good price I buy it whether I need it or not. Figure someone will want it or I can trade it. JB
sarges46 Posted April 25, 2008 #3 Posted April 25, 2008 Also keep checking ebay. Those parts come up every now and then...but be prepared to pay....like mentioned ....they are rare now and desired by many.
bongobobny Posted April 25, 2008 #4 Posted April 25, 2008 Those vhrome intakes for the fairing, when they are on evay, usually go for a LOT of money! I do have a set of chrome for the engine covers but they need replating...
Squidley Posted April 25, 2008 #5 Posted April 25, 2008 Ebay or fabricate your own, like mentioned it's a 20+ year old bike. Just to play devils advocate here quickly, folks think that parts go high on ebay, and some of them do. But if you think about how much you would pay for chrome parts on say a new RSV...they really aren't as high as you might think.
hipshot Posted April 26, 2008 #7 Posted April 26, 2008 Save your money to buy Gas !!! !!!YEAH, RIGHT!!!. just jt
JimRoberts Posted April 26, 2008 Author #8 Posted April 26, 2008 Talked with a friend of my dads that has an 84 Venture he has rebuilt. He's working on getting the info together about converting the chrome rotor covers off a 1200 Goldwing to fit a Venture. He's also going to get me info on folding passenger armrests converted off a Goldwing. He has both these installed on his bike.
