Chaharly Posted December 17, 2017 #1 Posted December 17, 2017 Hey guys! Gonna be tearing the rack off my trunk for a little plastic repair and i was wonderin if anyone knows where to get replacement rubber for it? The old stuff's pretty gnarled up, but so was the trunk lol. Any input would be appreciated!:detective:j
Wizard765 Posted December 17, 2017 #2 Posted December 17, 2017 I think you could make some out of an old inner tube.. I keep an old bicycle inner tube for that purpose..
bikenut Posted December 17, 2017 #3 Posted December 17, 2017 Hardware stores do sell all types of rubber washer in the specialty trays. I would give that a try
Marcarl Posted December 18, 2017 #4 Posted December 18, 2017 Check the plumbing dept at Home Depot or Lowes
Karaboo Posted December 18, 2017 #6 Posted December 18, 2017 You can get them from BigBikeParts.com either as rubber only or with fancy metal star washers. Or go with the faucet washers.
Chaharly Posted December 20, 2017 Author #7 Posted December 20, 2017 Well guys, I too the trunk rack off and realized I was definitely overthinking the setup. I was expecting a grommet that went through the width of the plastic and under the washer on the otherside, but its literally just a little piece of rubber! Thanks for the good advice guys! I was kind of confused by your answers but now I get it!
