Brake Pedal Sticking

My brake pedal stays down when you step on it. I have to physically lift it up with my foot. The spring seems to be in place, but the pedal just doesn't want to spring back up when you step on it. Has anyone experienced this?

Try pulling the pedal off the pivot. Clean and lubricate the pivot.

What Carl said!! Also, yes, it is possible for a 30-year-old spring to lose its "spring" so if cleaning and lubricating the pedal doesn't work, try a new spring...

Yes, I had to this couple years ago. Pull it off the pivot. You will find oxidation there. Clean it, lube it. You should be good to go.
