@cowpuc Good question about the Speed limiter on FiFi the K1200LT and whether my Chip has removed/changed the value......to be honest I have not taken the old girl up to her max yet. My personal "speed limiter" is usually established by the "White Knuckles" and "Brown streak in the underwear" indicators. (Mom always taught me to carry a clean pair on the bike just in case). There is a youtube video of a stock 1999 K1200LT like mine going 211km/h (131mph) on the Autobahn, but FiFi has never gone that fast while under my ownership.......yet. Reminds me of a video that a certain member here recorded riding a R1 well past the speed limit.....wonder who that crazy video taker was??? :rasberry:

I will be riding FiFi from Calgary to Phoenix in the Spring (had so much fun this summer riding Walt that I need to do that ride again!). Maybe on one of those lonesome highways in Montana or Idaho I'll get the guts to test the "speed limiter", but FiFi is rather a flying brick with only 98HP compared to the new bad boy bikes we are talking about.

Relax buddy, follow what the Doc's and Tippy say, and hopefully this is the last of that silly surgery stuff for a looooong time. We all love ya here at Venturerider, and we are all looking forward to the many 2018 "Puc wore out another set of tires" YouTube videos!!!!! "Hey Tippy is that set #12 or #15 this year? I've lost count crisscrossing the country so many times this year visiting the kids and grandkids!". I so look forward to your future videos!

Hope I can convince you to add a Beamer to your stable.....another new friend for Tweeksis! And yes the "Thessalonians" say Hi :amen:.......Think I dated a girl named that in high school....Called her "Thess" for short (people just thought I had a lisp!). :happy65:

I think it is wayy cool that you could "chip" your Beemer Riv (hey Riv, did you happen to notice where that chip came from in Greece? Thessolinca? Wonder if thats the same Thessolinca as the one in the Bible = 1st and 2nd Thessolonians?? Ol Puc,, he may be slippin but his pea brain still dont miss that much!! Tip just said it was ok for me to order a "chip" like you got just to get something from the Thessalonians :happy34:) but I have my doubts that it included a speed limiter eliminator if your scoot had one? I just have this underlying thought that this speed limiter thing (not talking rev limiter - those typically protect the engine from grenading and most authorities dont care if our engines blow up) is straight up not gonna fly.

Will the aftermarket have one for us? I think this is slowly becoming a thing of the past with smart motorcycles with big mouths now being the norm. Some of this stuff records every move we make including tip overs, top speeds, top r's, ecm's that are ONLY functional on bikes that match the original VIN's and on and on.. I know that HD has become VERY strick on what they will work on, what they will warranty and the like because of the outlay in fines they have paid.

Maybe it's all this medical stuff I have been going thru or just grumpy old age setting in that is turning into some kind of a conspiritory suspicious type but I really dont like what I see happening.. Sing this to the tune of "dont fence me in" =

Give me R's lots of R's with unlimited horse power at my control = dont fence me in.. Give me R's endless R's at my choice of when it's used = dont fence me in. :guitarist 2::rotfl:

Never owned a computer controlled bike but I have bought Superchip tuners for my 02F150 and my 05 Hemi Magnum. And I used it to raise the speed limiter to 180mph on the Magnum. From what I've read it may be capable of reaching 155 to 160mph. I don't plan to drive that fast but if I get a wild hair and want to, I want to be able to take it to the limit. The Superchips made a bigger difference in performance on the truck than the Magnum. My buttometer guesstimates an extra 20hp on the truck and about 12hp on the Magnum. 12 is what was promised by Superchips for the hemi engine and it feels about right. Gas mileage was improved on both vehicles as well as hp. They also allow you to do many other things such as enter the tire diameter that corrects the speedometer if you change tire sizes.

"Hey Tippy is that set #12 or #15 this year? I've lost count crisscrossing the country so many times this year visiting the kids and grandkids!". I so look forward to your future videos Thanks for that Riv,, I used to LOVE typing out our trip stories (love reading others!!) and when my hands went south (this getting old stinks) I found myself leaning more on the videoing.. Turns out to be really fun and always glad to get your encouraging responses to them!!

Hope I can convince you to add a Beamer to your stable.....another new friend for Tweeksis DEFINITELY NOT AN IMPOSSIBILITY!
