Thought I'd have a shot anyway.

1. Remove turbo to air-filter tube.

2. remove bolt that holds AC receiver/dryer to fender and let it drop down.

3. remove oil filter.

4. when reinstalling oil filter I recommend filling filter with new oil.

Tks for the reply.

I have to laugh at myself.

So Sat evening I took the Air-filter off

Then put the correct oil filter socket on at the bottom.

But I could not get the ratchet on.

So I quit for it was getting dark.

Next morning I went and got the old spring lever type wrench.

I could not get it on at the bottom.

Then I saw this fitting on at the bottom of the filter.

I felt the center of this fitting and felt/though there was a hydrolic line going into the bottom of the filter.

I said how can this be.

I looked at the nre filter and there is no hole at th bottom of the filter.

Well Maybe I got the wrong filter being that this my fitrst diesel.

So I got my flash light and shined at the fitting at the bottom of the filter.

Then I realized that I had left the filter scoket wrench over night.

Took it and used the spring lever type of filter wrenct.

Rest was a piece a cake.

Was surprised that it too about 2 and 1/2 gallons of motor oil.

But again thanks for replying.

My 96 (also a 12v cummins) takes like 11 Qt plus filter. Any of these bigger filters like the FL1 that I can stand filter up so oil dont run out I fill with oil prior to installation. It takes valuable time to pump it full with engine.
