    • Things are slow cause the biker generation is getting older and riding less.

    • Things are slow cause the roadways are filled with idiots, to dangerous to ride.

    • Things are slow cause wages have not kept pace with cost of living.

    • Things are slow cause riding digitally (vid games) is cheaper, safer and no bike maintenance.

    • Things are slow because new bike prices are way to high (a new car is cheaper).

    • Sales would pick + if pro-biking laws were passed like lane splitting, discount fuel.
      4
    • Sales would + if passing lanes were accessible full time to bikes only, cars only when passing.
      3
    • Sales would + if bikes were allowed to proceed thru red light after stopping/no traffic present.
      4
    • Sales would + if tax breaks were given for those with Cycle Endorsement on Drivers License.

    • Sales would + if license fee's were $5 annually if bike is used for commuting.

Eating out is convenient but it is not healthy. Restaurants, even the best of them, cook food to be enticing but not necessarily good for you. Fast food restaurants for the most part serve poison full of excess calories, fat and salt. I decided to cost out what I prepared yesterday. It's approximately accurate. Draw your own conclusions.

Eating at home might actually make a new bike affordable and you might even live long enough to wear it out.

Whopper (according to BK): multiply the following by 2 for $6 (as per Condor).

But who cares. That's like comparing apples and oranges... Make your own burger and fries and see what it come out to...

OK Olive Garden for lunch. All the great minestrone soup and awesome salad you can eat... $8.99 Yumm!!

Well, let's see, 1 lb ground beef costs about $2.50 which will make 4 patties. A good bun is about $.50 and the rest of the ingredients probably cost a buck.

So $3 versus $9... Hmmmm, well on the way to paying for my next bike. :dancefool:

You forgot all the prep time, the fries, the drink... plus the bigger paddy.... And the cooking, and clean up...

Good luck on buying your next bike.... :mo money: I'll stick to the Whoppers..... :fatsmiley:

Well I selected 1, 3, and 5. Some other selections may play a small part but I think that those three are the main culprits.

As for as eating out is concerned, I travel a lot and eat out a lot but nothing compares to a good home cooked meal. My dining out is paid for by the company but I still prefer good home cooking. As for burgers, Whoppers are ok. No burger from McDonalds appeal to me. Hardies's has some that are decent. We don't have them here but Double cheeseburgers with Jalapeno's from Whataburger down south are about my favorite. Sonic double jalapeno cheeseburgers are a close second. All these new gourmet burger joints are just overpriced examples of the same fast food stuff. 5 Guys, In and Out, Backyard burgers, all are just overpriced versions of the same old thing. Red Robin has about as good as I've eaten away from home.

All that being said, NONE of them even come remotely close to a hand patted thick fresh ground beef burger cooked on my own grill. Forget the cost. If you eat just to satisfy your hunger, then the others will do. If you eat to truly enjoy the experience, nothing compares to a home grilled burger.

Ditto on the Red Robbin, but.... we have a local joint called the Flaming Grill that beats them all. Best Sirloin Burger with Cheddar and seasoned fries on the planet. Being a cheap SOB I don't want to waste the gas on the bbq with a burger. A 1" thick Rib Eye is the only way to go... :-) Yes, ditto on the home cooked too.... :thumbsup2:

With the Japanese building Harley copies biking has gotten a trifle boring. Why didn't Yamaha do this? Two Yamaha I4,s created a V8.

Check out the PGM motorcycle. Yamaha could have done it cheaper and had a powerful sports bike and detune it for a cruiser.
