Air Ready Auto Posted October 18, 2017 Author #8 Posted October 18, 2017 Ssooooo for a Tuesday. That was some serious Friday eating we did tonight... Hey, do we have a section on here for trading recipes? I have a great chicken soup recipe I would be willing to share in exchange for a recipe for split pea soup. I have a massive ham bone that just begs to be introduced to some split peas.
Flyinfool Posted October 18, 2017 #9 Posted October 18, 2017 Only a quarter? Did I get you in trouble?
Air Ready Auto Posted October 18, 2017 Author #10 Posted October 18, 2017 Only a quarter? Did I get you in trouble? That quarter pepper still gave quite a kick.

You really shouldn't waste that ham bone on split peas. Go with Black eyed peas and add a ham hock for gusto. Chicken stock, a little celery, salt, pepper and cayenne. Served over buttered corn bread with a dash of your favorite pepper sauce. MMMM, goood. I guarantee it!
Flyinfool Posted October 18, 2017 #12 Posted October 18, 2017 The best split pea soup I ever had was a batch that my mom made back when I still just a little one. She was making it in the pressure cooker and the pressure relief malfunctioned so the safety plug blew. Next thing you know there was green slime dripping from the entire kitchen ceiling. By the time it was all cleaned up the best option for dinner was to take the family to McDonald's to help work on getting the FIRST billion burgers sold.
Flyinfool Posted October 20, 2017 #14 Posted October 20, 2017 I can see a venison cook off developing here............... I will host and judge it.
