Picked up a New-to-me Bike Last Weekend

2009 BMW R1200GS Adventure

 

 

Flew down to Melbourne, FL on Friday and rode it home to Fond du Lac. Made it in time for dinner Sunday (along with a stop in Charleston, SC and Fort Wayne, IN to see family). This is intended to take over the Long Distance duties from the Venture. The Venture is being retired to trips with the wife.

I rode in a small group on my 900cc Triumph where another rider had one of the BMW 1200's also. I was very surprised how well a tall and heavy bike like that handled in the twisties.

I have my Venture for carrying the little lady (seriously, she's 5.0' tall). And I have a couple of sport bikes for me.
