Brake Pad Posted October 3, 2017 #1 Posted October 3, 2017 The Insurance group just called, and my bike is being moved today, to the Honda shop in Salt Lake City. for me, therapy will be done this thursday. ( I have peaked motion in my arms ) left is 97% straight & right is 77% straight. I have active motion in all degrees, except straight out. all the metal is working well. this is right arm.

Sounds like you may be back at in the very near future Out of curiousity,, any word on whether or not the hardware in your arm(s) is permanent or will you go thru more surgery to have stuff removed?? I still have the hardware in my rt arm after 10 years, and its starting to give me trouble. I was talking to my General Practitioner during my last physical about maybe going back to an orthopedic and having it removed.

I was talking to my General Practitioner during my last physical about maybe going back to an orthopedic and having it removed. It was Express to me by the doctor here in Vero Beach, that if my right arm heals good and bone is showing improvement over the next year and a half or so, the plate that supports that section of elbow can be removed. Allowing for more flexibility toward a straighter arm. Leaving the rest of the metal in however. As the right arm as you see in the X-ray was broken and crushed in seven places.

I had/Have plans to finish this trip. but didn't think, it was going to take this long, One to recover and two, to have the bike repaired. now, 3 months and 3 weeks. but the doctor figured 6-8 months on my right arm. But if you're implying using an ointment instead of the Tens machine, I suggest you use both. The Tens machine will help deep down in the tissue and bone. The Tens is a home version of a physical therapist's instrument. But, there is also a very similar orthopedic instrument which helps bones heal. The tens is similar enough in its operation and the frequencies of the stimulation that I believe it also helps bone heal. You'll never see it advertised as such because of FDA restrictions, and its certainly not the equivalent of a $10,000 orthopedic bone stimulator. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2762251/ My arm required 3 surgeries and the bone was not healing after almost a year. Dr was taking monthly xrays. So I did some homework. Read and make your own decision. my arm finally began showing signs of healing after twice daily use of a tens machine for a couple more months. Maybe it was just coincidence. But the tens definitely helped with deep pain that ointments don't help with. I'm not an expert, just relaying my experience. I wish you luck with a speedy recovery.

djh3 Posted October 12, 2017 #12 Posted October 12, 2017 Sucks they totaled it Mike. But I honestly figured they would. Actually I'm surprised it took them this long. I forget the actual figure, but it is something like 60% cost to repair and the write it off. So even if you have full coverage on say a 2nd gen from 2002, NADA say the bike is worth say 8k so about 4800 in repairs and poof.

I have another doctors appointment this coming week. I hope to get release to go back to work for FEMA. and hopefully stay local. My trailer is sitting in a garage in Kanab Utah. I will not be going back for it. I gawked at that for a while yesterday after looking at the sales promo for the new Kawa touring bike. The seat is a bit high for my short legs. I'd need to put high heals on my boots, for sure.
