Du-Rron Posted September 17, 2017 #2 Posted September 17, 2017 Just a quick simple question if the clutch slave cylinder is bloken and there is no oil in the lines will the clutch lever be loose? Thank you all in advance. With no oil and nothing to pump or return the lever to home position, then yes, the lever will be loose.
Poncho26 Posted September 17, 2017 Author #3 Posted September 17, 2017 Is there anything i have to be aware of before replacing the clutch slave cylinder? I've seen post where a hone or honning is mentioned.
bongobobny Posted September 17, 2017 #4 Posted September 17, 2017 Rebuilding is a crap shoot at best, you are better served to buy a whole new one. It helps to have a good vocabulary of curse words when removing the old one and installing the new one...
Poncho26 Posted September 17, 2017 Author #7 Posted September 17, 2017 When i take the cover off the side of the bike will oil come out of there or should be dry and clean? Also do i have to to remove the banjo screw and the one on top and bottom put the new part and that's it? Or what's the process to follow?

Poncho26 Posted September 21, 2017 Author #10 Posted September 21, 2017 Update I replaced the clutch slave cylinder took me 10 minutes to take it out and 1 hour to put back it slides right really easy but took me an hour to figure it out, unfortunately I striped one of the flat head hex screws and couldn't add dot3 to the master cylinder, if anybody have a recommendation of how to get it out I will very much appreciate it thank you. bongobobny Posted September 22, 2017 #11 Posted September 22, 2017 OK, first, WHY you stripped out the screw!! These are METRIC bikes and even the screws, especially the Phillips type are metric! Every time you use an SAE screwdriver on a JIS screw you are probably going to strip out the head!!! You need to invest in a set of JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) screwdrivers!! The main difference is the angle of the slots. So, for now, you need to drill or grind off the head of the screw and then remove the stud with vice grips. OK, after carefully re-reading your post, I am confused as to which screw you stripped. I ass u me'd you are referring to the master cylinder cover and not one of the slave mounting screws... If you are referring to the master cylinder cover, plan on buying two of them as you probably buggered up the other head.
