Flyinfool Posted September 14, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) The.308 Rem is a short action. Long action is for the bigger magnum rounds. Are you looking for an original or similar to original stock or something like a synthetic stock? There are lots of choices more than what I listed, from fairly inexpensive to very expensive. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/576675/champion-rifle-stock-remington-600-660-short-action-synthetic-black http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/SearchByKeyword?word=3ub362b https://www.stockysstocks.com/mcmillan-remington-mountain-rifle-700-788-600-fiberglass-stock.html Edited September 14, 2017 by Flyinfool

Carbon_One Posted September 15, 2017 Share #9 Posted September 15, 2017 That's a sweet gun and just about perfect for deer hunting in the woods. I had a model 660 laminated stock in .350 Magnum. Like a fool I sold it. Always wanted to get one in .308 too. Todays modern model is the model 7.

RandyR Posted September 15, 2017 Share #12 Posted September 15, 2017 Mine is 300 Win.Mag but if I want to go for loooong shots I take the Weatherby 30-378 Mag. My long range rifle is in 7mm STW built in a M1917 Enfield action. But I shoot .308/7.62mm 99% of the time, including target shooting and hunting. Excluding service rifle competition with an AR-15 in .223.
