ReinyRooster Posted September 1, 2017 #1 Posted September 1, 2017 I just switched to an Imac and now suddenly after a week of working fine, it's acting up and won't even start. Any techies here that know Imacs that can assist? Would cover any long distance charges if we can work through this by phone.
Guest divey Posted September 1, 2017 #2 Posted September 1, 2017 If you just got it, why not call Apple? I've found their support to be great. Doug
Kretz Posted September 1, 2017 #3 Posted September 1, 2017 Or if you are close to one of their stores call in & ask a "genius".

Had a bad hard drive which was replaced at the Apple store. No problems since then. If you cannot start it up, there is a limit to what can be diagnosed. Might want to make sure it is plugged in and has power! zag
Guest Posted September 4, 2017 #5 Posted September 4, 2017 Sorry I didn't respond sooner but the Mac was down and I took a few days of R&R at the cottage. The Mac is an older model that I picked up used as my first foray into the world of Mac.......like it. I had bought more RAM and after putting it in, the thing wouldn't fire up...even after I put the old ram back in.......apparently it's rather finicky about that sort of thing so I finally fiddled with it enough to get it going again. All is now good.
