galatron Posted August 17, 2017 #1 Posted August 17, 2017 I have a 2007 RSTD and a DynaTek 3k that has USB connectivity. I've been trying to find a guy to dyno tune my bike, but unfortunately have been unable to locate one that will work on my bike in Austin - they all "work on harley bikes only" ugh. brand loyalty... Anyway, has anyone got a curve that has been tested that I can load into my bike to keep from burning up a valve? Otherwise, I'm just going to go back to the stock ignition module. Thank you very much in advance. - no pun intended.
baylensman Posted August 17, 2017 #2 Posted August 17, 2017 I believe the USB units have a "TUNE" on them, so they'll work right out of the box. Software is PC addressable. Check Dynas website I don't know if you need special editor or not. Move the Rev Limiter up 500 RPM and try it! you'll smile. The stock curve in the Yamaha box takes the advance out at higher RPM putting it back will give even more pull. Adding 2 degrees across the RPM band is a good starting point, and should not be harmful at all.
galatron Posted August 22, 2017 Author #3 Posted August 22, 2017 I have the editor, I just want something more scientific.
galatron Posted September 8, 2017 Author #4 Posted September 8, 2017 Pulled my D3k USB ignition device out and reinstalled a stock box. I could never find a dyno service to program it properly. First impressions on the stock box reinstall is that I've wasted my time, effort and money with the D3k box. poo.
