Marcarl Posted August 15, 2017 #3 Posted August 15, 2017 That'll learn ya,, well maybe,,,, it don't look real bad, but I bet you found you had some feelings anyways. Glad it wasn't me, because then it would REALLY HURT!!! Heal fast and keep it all clean and dry. Take some echinacea, it really helps in the healing process.
snyper316 Posted August 15, 2017 Author #4 Posted August 15, 2017 I tell you what I had mud covering my legs I rode the bike to two miles back to my house with a bent pedal I rinsed the mud off and ouchy I think would have been better off leaving them mud there Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

cowpuc Posted August 15, 2017 #6 Posted August 15, 2017 Yes,, it counts IMHO.. Fact is,, one of the most painful crashes I have personally ever had was on a bicycle when I was a kid. Wanna hear the story? Ok,,, here's what happened.. The founding fathers of the village that I grew up in decided that it would be cheaper and easier to just build sidewalks around the big oak trees that lined our streets rather then removing the trees to make a nice straight pathway for people to walk.. I used to LOVE to ride my bicycle down those early twisties - talk about perfect training for days to come... One day,, while out carving the curves the thought crossed my mind that I had ridden those corners enough that I could probably ride them with my eyes closed.. I started at the corner - eyes open and counting the turns of the crank of my pedals that it took to get me to the first corner, then the angle of the turn of the bars and the pedals to complete the turn.. I did this several times to insure I had it all memorized.. Finally, after much practice - I put my front wheel on the crack in the sidewalk where my adventure was to begin,, closed my eyes and took off.. I counted successfully the cranks of the crankshaft attached to my pedals as I increased speed and made my way toward the cornered concrete that led around the big oak tree that I had ridden around many many times in my young life.. About the time I thought it was time to adjust the angle of my handle bars and start my peddle count to proceed around the tree I saw a "flash" of light and remember opening my eyes to a small group of adults who lived in the area looking down at me as I lay there in the shade of the mighty oak.. I turned my head and notice my bicycle had a severely bent wheel and my head hurt pretty bad.. One of the adults asked what had happened, back then,, having not learned the "Code" yet,, I explained to them what I had done.. I learned that day that, YES,, even bicycle crashes count AND,, I also learned how important it is to study the bikers Code book about when to tell ALL the truth and when to with hold somethings for posterity sake = its the code.... The End
snyper316 Posted August 15, 2017 Author #7 Posted August 15, 2017 Well I have never liked sticking to main roads I like to go off the beaten path and wishing I still had my 250 Yamaha dirt bike... I found a place I could ride it!!!! And there are a bunch. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk

snyper316 Posted August 16, 2017 Author #9 Posted August 16, 2017 I would like to add its my own fault for wearing shorts with air cooled 2 cycle motor that's how hot that motor is for split second contact peeled me. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk
Kretz Posted August 16, 2017 #10 Posted August 16, 2017 Well at least you're OK (more or less) so thanks for that, you lived to tell the tale. I came off a pedal cycle when I was in my early teens, going really fast, downhill curve, gravel, that stuff embedded in my knees like crazy, dad used tweezers to get it all out! Hurt like a SOB some 50 years later I still have those scars! (& can laugh about it!)
