Well I've had mysteriously disappearing fluid in the clutch reservoir for quite some time. Now i drive almost every day in town so I use the clutch a lot! About every 3-4 weeks i'd refill the master cylinder. Never any drips on the floor, and the oil level isn't going up, so I assumed a leak somewhere. Well I bought the gaskets and o rings and coper washers etc from mama Yama and had them on the dresser in the spare room.

Saturday morning i went outside and sitting cross legged began disassembling the beastie. I should have put her up on the stand but once I got started, oh well. Got the covers off and pulled the hose. I unbolted the the slave unit and began turning it threw a very complicated set of left right clockwise and reverse motion till I got it out. The clutch fluid evidently was coming from the main seal not the dust boot. a bit wet and heavy dust under the bike, but most of the fluid must dissipate while driving.

The piston was a little difficult to remove. when I got it out i cleaned the bore and the piston with an old headlight polishing 4000 grit sponge i had laying around. got the new seals in place popped it together and reinstalled. I was anticipating a fight getting everything to line up in there with no room and its dark, but it almost fell back together. I got out the Mighty-Vac and bled the system.

Wow one finger clutch operation like when it was new to me 4 years ago! No leak , its staying dry in there. ( I did debunk with some spray solvent) '

so good to go!
