Statussymbol Posted August 14, 2017 #1 Posted August 14, 2017 Is there any adverse effect on removing the "stop" from the rear trunk? i.e. plastic cracking at the hinge. I put my work bag in the trunk and it does not lift far enough up for me to not wedge my bag into it. Thanks Stat
Kirby Posted August 14, 2017 #2 Posted August 14, 2017 The stop linkage is bent. Just gently lift up on the lid and they will straighten back out. It should lift up to 90 degrees. Been there, done that!

I haven't had one on for several years now.
djh3 Posted August 15, 2017 #4 Posted August 15, 2017 My Victory Cross Country had a cable on one side. When I added the rack I felt it added enough weight once over center it needed another cable. So I made one with a couple eyes for wiring and some 12ga wire. Just don't like the idea of the hinge being the stop.
