Bassett Posted August 15, 2017 Author #26 Posted August 15, 2017 Problem is the vent tubing off the carb is plugged and holding air pocket in the carb and forcing the gas to "spring" out the air inlet jet. Does not let the float rise and pressures the gas up and out. Had the same problem on an 85 I was working on about 3 month ago and drove me nuts. Found the hose was plugged. You could first check by removing the vent hose and see if that fixes the problem. That hat was the issue!!!! I took the hose off and it didn't do it anymore. I blew into the tube and it was clogged up. Wow.
Flyinfool Posted August 16, 2017 #28 Posted August 16, 2017 Glad it was an easy fix. Now check the oil again to be sure the excess gas is not in the oil. also be sure no gas is in the cylinders before you try to start it, (pull plugs and crank it over) you do not want a hydro lock.

Bassett Posted August 18, 2017 Author #30 Posted August 18, 2017 does anyone have any spare carbs for parts? My 90 degree elbow on my carb's end broke and I could use a replacement or two.
