Four brush starter. On Ebay there is a starter: New 12V starter Fits XVZ 1300TFS. $159.95. Unit type MITSUBA. Is this a four brush starter? Will it fit my 89 XVZ 1300 VR?

Any starter from a 2nd gen Venture will fit! You should be able to pick up a good used one on Fleabay for around $60 and then pick up a brand new set of brushes and install them, you will then have in essence a new starter! Starters do not fail very often, almost never...

First Gens 91, 92, and 93 have 4 brush starters from what I've read. And all of the RSTDs and 2nd Gens have 4 brush starters.

Yes! Also, the VMax had 4 brush but anything VMax costs more...
