Freebird Posted January 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2007 I had them at one time. FANTASTIC sound but I finally got tired of any excess noise and went back to stock. pegscraper Posted January 31, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 31, 2007 I have the Krome Werks turnout mufflers on a 4 pipe model. The sound is great. Yes, they're plenty loud. I could wish they were a little quieter, but stock is really too quiet for me and I don't like the sound of drilled mufflers. So I guess these are it. I have found that I have to wear earplugs anyway, no matter what mufflers I have on the bike; apparently it's not the exhaust noise but the wind noise that stresses my ears. Smilin Jack Posted February 1, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 1, 2007 I have Krome Werks on my 99 RSV. To me it has a nice rumble and good tone. Most of my riding is two up with helmet and headsets working so the sound doesn't seem to effect communication with my wife. I've heard a few other mufflers on RSV's and the tone and quality just wasn't as good as the Krome Werks. The other thing I liked about Krome Werks was the fact that you didn't have to adjust the carbs, just slide them on, tighten them up and your set. I would recommend that you apply some type of anti-sieze compound to the thread on the attachment clamps. Getting them off without the compound may cause the surrounding air to turn blue! Guest JGorom Posted February 1, 2007 Share #7 Posted February 1, 2007 I have a set on my 05 RSTD. I have the tips on mine turned down to the ground and let her rumble (also like the look this way). Presently...mine are not too loud...the nice thing about them is if they do start getting a bit loud you can always repack the glass to mellow them down a bit as was already mentioned. I ride the RSTD solo and use our wing for distance and double-up...so mamma's opinion does not matter on this one. Best regards in what ever you choose for you. Later...
