Unlike the BiPAP that you have to sync your breathing to the machine cycle, the VPAP senses when you are inhaling and exhaling and adjusts the pressure accordingly. Far superior to the BiPAP IMHO but unfortunately the VA only supplies BiPAP and I really don't have $1600 to spare for a new VPAP so I'm stuck with the BiPAP. Oh, well, it's free and is better than the CPAP...
