Liptoss Posted June 13, 2017 #1 Posted June 13, 2017 Ok, so when I bought my 2006 VMX12, I almost immediately performed the "crimp" fix to improve the charging system. Over the weekend, I found myself diving further into electrical "fixes" to repair weak charging voltage. I began by clipping the 3 wire connector from the stator and solid twisted and solder it. I also addressed the red and black from the regulator by either clip and solid solder the wires or extracting connector points and soldering/tightening the male and female connectors. It's done, and I'm now once again turning upwards of ~14.1-14.2 Volts at above idle RPMs. Now as a new owner of a 2013 RSV, I'm wondering IF this Yamaha has any of these sorts of shortcomings that will need to be addressed as the bike ages? My guess there is. Can anyone give me insight what to expect? Thanks
vzuden Posted June 13, 2017 #2 Posted June 13, 2017 Read through the articles in the 2nd Gen Tech Library. There are several that provide tips to correct some of the known shortcomings
