I have a 87 and when I went to hook my battery up this spring I hooked the neg up first---main problem ,,,which blew the main fuse. I finished hooking battery up and found my spare fuses and replaced it. When I went to plug it back in it blew again. DO I need to unhook the battery, replace the fuse and hook it back up then hook up the pos then the neg to keep it from blowing again? thanks

Shouldn't make any difference which side of battery you hook up first. I typically hook up the neg last. If it is blowing fuses as soon as connected, it has a dead short somewhere.

You could try pulling all the fuses and put them back in one at a time. Then see if you can find the short. If you can read the circuit diagrams, you could try to find it with a meter.

Patience is the hardest thing to master with electrical issues. At least for me.
