Davin Posted May 29, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 29, 2017 what is the best rear tire for 2007 rsv I have the Dunlop D404. Not a terrible tyre but I am going to try something different next. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
slowrollwv Posted May 29, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 29, 2017 I run the Dunlop E III great grip, dry or rain and get about 20,000 miles.
Starpheus Posted May 29, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2017 I've been happy with the Dunlop Elite 3. Pretty good tread life and sticks to the road rain or shine. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
bill in mn Posted May 29, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2017 I just put Dunlop's new E4s on my Goldwing and I was running E3s . The newer tire is suppose to run longer and quieter. I have about 100 miles and so far I like them very quiet compared to my E3s .My old tires were cupped and made a lot of noise . Check them out and see if they are right for you.Bill

bongobobny Posted May 29, 2017 Share #7 Posted May 29, 2017 Can 'o worms!! You may as well ask what brand of oil to use while you're at it!! I too am an E-3/E-4 fan as they have the best treadwear spec of them all, but other people like the Michelin Commander, Shinkos for economy, etc. We all sort of agree to stay away from Metzler's as they have a propensity for throwing out chunks of rubber and causing accidents... djh3 Posted May 29, 2017 Share #8 Posted May 29, 2017 I liked the Michelin Commander 2. No howl 15-20k or more for me. I also needed a tire on the budget one time for the RSV. I went with a Shinko. Also very good traction, but I traded a few thousand miles (5) later. But it showed very good wear.
grubsie Posted May 29, 2017 Share #9 Posted May 29, 2017 Recently switched to Avon Cobras. Far superior ride. Like them so much that I also put them on my Road Star and Road King. I go through the twisties like I am on rails on all 3 bikes.
Bert2006 Posted May 29, 2017 Share #10 Posted May 29, 2017 This is my 4th season with Commander II's (second set). Love them, especially with the skinny 130 up front. Got 16K kilometers on first set and now have 8K on the current set with very little wear showing.
Air Ready Auto Posted May 29, 2017 Share #11 Posted May 29, 2017 I have the Dunlop E-3 on the rear and the Michelin in the front. Any time I ran a Dunlop in the front, it would cup really bad.
WildBill1 Posted May 29, 2017 Share #12 Posted May 29, 2017 Michelin Commander II little harder compound than Dunlop E-3 and last longer. With that said I run the softer E-3 on the front for carving thru the twisties good combination for me.

djh3 Posted May 31, 2017 Share #14 Posted May 31, 2017 My RSV had the E3 on it when I bought it. Few month in I was rounding some corners and heard this whine/roar sound. Read tire sides cupped. My new to me Victory last year when I bough it had the radial flavor E3. Same deal roar in corners. So for me 2 out of 2 was enough. On the Victory this time I found some Continental Milestones. So far so good. Whatever you get try to get a "reinforced" tire.
Dj Danger Posted May 31, 2017 Share #15 Posted May 31, 2017 I have about 400 miles on my Kendra Cruz tires. I could not possibly be any happier !
snyper316 Posted May 31, 2017 Share #16 Posted May 31, 2017 So I should use the T6 shell Rotella along with my Elite 8's or should I roll with the T4 oil and go with the Avons? So much to choose from....
pope3567 Posted May 31, 2017 Share #17 Posted May 31, 2017 Ditto Bert2006... On my second Michelin Commander II on the rear. Got 12,800 miles on the first Michelin rear and I ride 2-up the majority of time. I used to run Metzgers on my bikes but the Michelins are far superior. Al Bates Posted June 1, 2017 Share #18 Posted June 1, 2017 *Avon Cobras used to be Avon Venom Great Tire... Especially if you are a aggressive rider, I have tried everything still with Avon cobras now.. outstanding traction.
firecloud2007 Posted June 1, 2017 Share #19 Posted June 1, 2017 I run the Dunlop E III great grip, dry or rain and get about 20,000 miles. You really get 20K miles out of a rear tire? I have never gotten more than 10K on any bike I have owned or any tire. I check tire pressure pretty regularly. I must be doing something wrong. Most of my riding is back country roads with many curves - perhaps that is reason?

Well I ride WV,KY SW Virginia if that is not enough curves I will head for PA. I do a lot of curves also two up and sometimes pulling a trailer. Use the one that makes them look black & shiny! No need to go synthetic though, Dino will do!
ragtop69gs Posted June 1, 2017 Share #24 Posted June 1, 2017 Hands down, the BFG TA/Radial is the winner. Best in traction and stopping power, also makes the bike corner like it's on railsa Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Maybe ad a color di to them? so I can get purple smoke and pink flames....
