Good afternoon,

I am a new member and am looking for some guidance on installing a Chrome Radiator cover for my 2006 Royal Star Midnight Tour Deluxe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tips and or tricks.

It's been quite a while since I put mine on my RSV but you have to remove your lower fairings for starters which are not that big of a deal. I'm sure others will chime in but yes there is a fair amount of disassembling involved but it is not an all day project...

Greetings Jim and welcome to the club :)

I have done this about three times and it is not an half hour job. It is quite some time since I did this last time so I am writing this by memory so I am sure there are some that might chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

I found out the first time I did this that there are no shortcuts (at least none that I know of). Second time I did this I decided that the most logical thing to do was to use the oppurtunity to chance the coolant and then undo all hoses to get this done properly. The thing is there is a kind of a strut on the top of the radiator that goes into a slot to keep the radiator in place, and the radiator cover has to slip over the top of the strut. With all the hoses attached there was not enough play to get the strut out of the slot and to such position I could slide the cover over the strut. SO - If I remember right - It served me best to undo the radiator, use the oppurtunity to chance the coolant (remember the water pump) - and install that great looking cover.

But maybe there is someone on the site that knows of easier way to do this.
