BlueSky Posted May 17, 2017 #26 Posted May 17, 2017 I don't think removing fluid from the master will help brake lock at all. Master cylinder doesn't have a pressure seal so it could push fluid out. its the check valve that stops fluid from going backer in the wrong direction. It does have a rubber seal to keep water saturated air from coming in touch with the fluid. If overfilled and heat added expanding the fluid this rubber seal would be pushed up against the MC cover and then could keep pressure on the pads.
Yammer Dan Posted May 17, 2017 #27 Posted May 17, 2017 Have had a 1st Gen lock the rear wheel up because of overfull rear Master. Bled it off til it was about 3/4 inch below filler port and rode home!!!
Yammer Dan Posted May 18, 2017 #28 Posted May 18, 2017 If it were mine and I were home in my garage I would lower that Master a little then pull that caliper off push the pistons back and clean very well. Is it getting too hot?? Just keep a check that it doesn't get too warm. Too warm?? Can't do quick touch without saying OUCH!!

It literally will sound like a small sizzling egg... Now if its a slight his that is normal.... But I'm odd.. Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk
frankd Posted May 18, 2017 #30 Posted May 18, 2017 Snyper, If it's sizzling, it's way too hot, unless you were using it heavily. When I said too warm to touch, I should have said too hot to hold you hand on. Frank
