Hey Puc. Ya know, I was so caught up with reading Cheezy's post, I never noticed he called Tweeks ugly. What the???? Who in hells half acre does he think he is, calling a fair dame like Tweeks ugly? Little did he know when he met her, that he just ran across one of the great fair lady's of the all of the motorcycle world. Tweeks has seen and experienced more in her lifetime than any old Indian will experience in 10 lifetimes. And she's done it all with un-equalled reliability and class.

I really hope you're gonna feel up to going to the unveiling! Be sure and take a lotta pics and some of your famous videos.

Yea,, you and me,, we DEFINITELY share in that opinion brother!!! Tweeksis has been kind of down in the dumps lately,, was thinkin she was a little preturbed with me about all the time I been spending ripping up the roads on my bucket list R1.. Just not feeling herself and I wasnt sure why.. Also, on the way home from "Sams Joint" (grandsons house = his name is Sam) I noticed some strange vibes and told Tip I thought it was tire time - checked the rear,, sure enough = cords just starting to peak thru in one small spot.. Spent yesterday spooning on a new rear tire - picked up a Kenda Challenger - right size 140/90 "C" rated, 77h for load rating, not a bad looking tire for $45 bucks.. I LOVE testing cheap tires. Worst I ever got was 3500 miles from a 404 Dunny - this new Kenda is WAY beafier than the Dunny - cant wait to see how she wears - hoping to try er out on a rip across Canada to catch that unveiling - will definitely take LOTS of pics to share if we are able to make it = want to go REALLY REALLY bad..

Did her tuning, oil change and all that too.. Noticed some odd readings on the sync gauges,, found out she had an issue with a diaphram.. Poor things been draggin a cylinder for a while = these things run amazingly well on 3 cylinders but WOW does she like the repair :bikersmilie:

Swear I saw her :stickinouttounge: at Maggie the R1 a bit ago!!

PS = the light spot on the diaphram is light from my pen light shining thru :missingtooth:,, there were FIVE of those holes:scared:

Gonna stick my neck out - me thinks the new bike will be the Yamaha Journey, with most all those bells and whistles the folks in the video asked for. And I'd bet it won't have a cassette player.

It wont be a Yamaha if it don't have a cassette deck.:Laugh::Laugh:

Cowpuc, I was curious about the Kenda Challenger tire and I looked it up on ebay. Almost all the ones I found that size were load rated 57 with a warning that it was not intended for heavy touring bikes. I did find one that was rated 77H but there was the same warning on the ad for that one too. Something to check up on. Maybe the warning was leftover from another ad for that one. Don't know but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I just went to the Kenda tire web site and it states the Challenger tire is not meant for high loads. The Kenda Kruz is the big heavy bike tire.

Thanks Sky for having your buddies back = THAT is greatly appreciated brother!!! Took a couple quick snaps of the spec stamp on the Challenger = posted below. Of course, when I was picking thru the tire rack at our local tire pub that stamp was what I went by.. Never even really gave it much thought beyond that. Maybe time for a tire debate, see if anyone else has had any experience with the "Kenda Challenger".. Think I will see if I can find a number for Kenda Tire and see if I can actually speak to a techy about it.. It is a very sturdy looking piece, real deep tread (way deeper than any Dunlop or Michelin I have had) BUT - I do know looks can easily be deceiving AND heavy tread does not mean it expels heat well or wont wear fast..

Wonder if MiCarl would have any thoughts on this subject..

DEFINITELY always worth mentioning this stuff BlueSky! I would do it for you too IN A HEART BEAT!!

Thanks!

Puc

Hey @cowpuc (sorry to thread hijack)......but, where did you locate the Kenda for only $45 bucks? I'm cheap and in the market for new rubber for AZZI, so it is a match made in heaven! Let me know.

My kenda kruz was 96 and 80 for front.... I paid just around 276 installed but I needed them to get a couple of bolts out of rotor...

@cowpuc, I will weigh in:

When I first saw your original post my first reaction was that the Challenger had a lower load rating. Although I thought it was a 71, which is what Yamaha calls for. I run the Kruz which is a 77 and I went that route because I knew I over load the motorcycle.

I cannot find load ratings for the Challenger, even on the Kenda site. I did see their warning about heavy motorcycles. But then your sidewall stamp says otherwise.

I'm wondering if they changed the specs on the Challenger. I'm goofing off today but I'll try to remember when I'm in the shop Monday to check the book.
