No thats actually the common map symbol for your destination on google maps. All the talk is about the destination and going further.

Well jeez, you stuck a pin in my balloon and stole my candy bar at the same time.

Ya know, as usual, Ole Puc brings up a good point. Somebody from our group needs to take one for the team and go to Lake George and get some relevant pictures of this machine. If I wasn't 21hrs and 8 states away, I'd sure as heck be there.

Surely some of our members that are....let's say....within a few hundred miles from there would want to go put eyes on it for us.

Has anyone looked "closely" at the logo here?

Look really closely at the "O" in Journey.....does anyone else pick up the V at the bottom of it?? V stands for Venture.......I have to think they are going to resurrect the name. At lease this is the logic I've used to convince myself of that fact. I will be upset if they don't.

And I thought the "V" was because it will be a V engine.:confused24:

No its because when yamaha made a deal with Victory to build there new cruiser. So we get maybe a release date and a 1 bike per dealer roll out before they have to redesign, so we are without a bike for another 4 years.

I keep telling you, your not seeing the real bike in these pictures. These test bikes have fake plastic covers on the fairing and other key parts to keep us from seeing the real deal. Same thing they do with test cars. these are prototypes, if you look at the picture of the silver trunk you will see that there is some subtle changes.

I found this picture on a Facebook page. Could this be?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170517/b225fd6d1becc926ffaefbb68727a2d6.jpg

Is that our famous Nacho from Spain that did that composite picture?

If you look at the back of the backrest in the third pic, it looks like the old venture symbol from 1st Gen?!

Steamer,

I gotta tell ya; the only subtle changes I'm seeing is the silver paint. Oh, and the antenna.

What subtle changes in that trunk are you talking about?

GOOD EYE BROTHER:thumbsup::thumbsup:!! Folks should take a really really close look at what Mabe is talking about = grab a magnifying glass - that is DEFINITELY the good ole Venture symbol most of us ADORE = YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWW I think its gonna happen!!

Just had another procedure done today,, didnt know how I would be feeling afterwards but doing ok.. REALLY considering hopping over to Lake George NY for the unveiling on the 5th (still dependant on health) - have done several unveils in the past (most recent Daytona for Indian engine and Sturgis for the bike in '13) and ALWAYS fun to participate. Looks like a straight shot across Mi, Canada - thru Niagra falls and over to Lake George.. Ride appears to be about 12 hours. 16 hour days in the saddle use to be average for us BUT = still having issues with tiredness hitting pretty hard at indiscriminate times - thinking leaving Sunday - drop tent along the route about half way (6 hour ride = lunch break ride for most of you lop eared varmints) - easily make Lake George by 7 pm Monday the 5th..

This could be history in the making - gotta go if at all possible!!

The back of the black trunk and tail light is v shaped, it come to a point in the middle of the trunk. the silver trunk is straight across the back. the tail light is also straight. the silver trunk has less lines and angles.

Lookin again at those pics; those gotta be v-twins, right? With that single exhaust coming out of the rear jug. You'd think if it was a V-4, there'd be 2 exhaust, one coming outta each jug.

Thats what I thought until I looked at the new vmax. Noticed how only the front header pipe is exposed. Hoping they've done the opposite on the new cruiser88a4d4f5f5c5c85d56cdb2c84af4a7e3.jpg

With the "sneak preview" pictures, I am sort of hoping that the exhaust is partially blackened out coming from the front to the rear and it is really a V-4 in there. The detailing is hard to pick out in the picture! I'm really hoping for a large 4 banger...

Assuming that the new bike is not just going to be a converted Star VTwin, and the fun in contemplating what it's going to look like after dissecting the stealth pics, the one thing nobody seems concerned about is.......

The price$$$. :mo money:

If it is what everyone is hoping for, will they be able to afford it, or will Yamaha price themselves out of the market?? The only way I can see a new Venture making it would be if it were radically different and not just a re-schmooze of an existing bike. To be successful Yamaha needs to create their own new niche market. Marketing is a tricky thing and I hope that Yama-Mama gets it right... :backinmyday:

If you all look real hard there is something on the the front and runs below the foot rest like under the frame.....

Did anyone else notice if you look at the right side and left side pic's that the exhaust headers are coming out of the rear jugs. If its a V twin one of them should be a cross over from the front jug. This is a V4 with the front pipes tucked under the frame.

Judging from the size and apparent I.D. of the muff's - I am thinking definitely V-4 and - from the placement of the headers,, a very good chance of it being boosted.. Mom Yam fooled with boosting back a number of years ago - remembering the 650.. I have always thought all engines should be boosted as its the most effecient way to gain horse power = because its using exhaust pressure to spool up the turbo = its actually free power!! Lots of the car companies are catching on to this - some even using twin turbos to gain both torque and hp...

Could be interesting.........

So,, I will ask again,, anybody thinking of going to the unveiling?

That's my concern too. Some of the things that are being asked to be built in would be much more expensive than after market versions that likely to be better and which have the possibility of an upgrade as technology progresses. I'm thinking particularly of GPS and sound systems. It might be just me but my preference for mounting a GPS is on the handle bars which can be closer to my eyes which makes it safer to look at while riding. The other thing is sound systems. I would like to see an FM radio with a Bluetooth system which both transmits and receives so it will connect to both headsets and a music source. Forget building in XM Radio, just make the built in radio accept the connection to the XM.

I can't remember what the actual formula is but something like every dollar spent in the factory translates to $100 on the showroom floor.

The Venture Royale was built like a Cadillac and for the time was as costly as one. The mass market cannot afford a Cadillac.

Yamaha does have a 1049cc boosted triple in the snowmobile chassis shared with Arctic Cat that puts out around 200 ponies. It is light and scary fast. They definitely created their own segment in that market.
