StarFan Posted April 20, 2008 #1 Posted April 20, 2008 Hi there. I need to ship a Royal Star Tour Classic II 1998 from Hudson Valley, New York to Norfolk Virginia. Any suggestions for a company or a person that would do this for a reasonable fee?
Squidley Posted April 21, 2008 #2 Posted April 21, 2008 I had a bike I sold on ebay that the fella who bought it was in Florida and used this place. http://www.haulbikes.com/haulbikes.html Now I'll tell you, this was a very slick setup, I was very impressed with the rig that came and got the bike (at 2am) and I talked with the driver for about 30 minutes or so. I wouldn't hesitate to use them if I have to have a bike shipped.
StarFan Posted April 21, 2008 Author #3 Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks Squidley. I will ask them for a quote and keep you guys posted. Do you know if they are using their own trucks or if they are bidding the shipping out? Had a bad experience with a company that did bid the shipping out. They sent a truck that you guys use to pick up car wrecks - open of cause and not meant for motorcycles by any means. My bike was a custom show bike and it was in the middle of winter in Illinois. Luckily the seller refused to load the bike to the truck and sent it away and took care of the shipping himself.
Squidley Posted April 21, 2008 #4 Posted April 21, 2008 Jonas, As I remember they only had about half a dozen rigs that all they did was transport bikes. Not to seem redundant, but I was VERY impressed with the one that came and picked up my bike. The truck and trailer were immaculant, dual levels with a hydraulic lift gate...top notch gear. I seriously wouldn't think twice to use them if I needed to.

Switch Posted April 29, 2008 #6 Posted April 29, 2008 RIDE IT! I bought my '97 RSTD in Fresno, CA; flew out there for $200 and had a ball riding it back to Montgomery, AL. I made it in 4 days averaging over 500/day.

Billet Posted April 29, 2008 #8 Posted April 29, 2008 These guys shipped my 04 from TN to NM. in Feb. (ebay killer deal) Cost $700 for shipping but it is a class act. Did get a small chip on the trunk spoiler but I submitted a claim and had a check for $260 in two weeks. http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/
