indash stereo without the CD. for the RSV

Hi All

 

Does anyone know will a in dash stereo without a CD fit into our cassette deck slot without any special mounting brackets. For those of you who have done it, which in dash stereo did you use. I want both FM and Satellite radio on the unit.

Been awhile since I Have had mine. But if memory serves the radios are a "black box" mounted under the fairing, the cassette deck hole may be large enough to find a radio with what you want included. but you will most certainly have to build some brackets as the current radios sit sort of in a horizontal position vs the cassette deck position at say a 40 something degree angle. Plus your handlebar control will not be able to be used.

I did this. Had to do some trimming around the housing. used 4 screws to mount into the plastic..works GREAT. 400 watt alpine in the trunk
