This is my next project....

I asked in another post where to put the relay and control box, and someone suggested behind the passenger seat rest.

Is that behind the cushion, or in that little panel in the plastic? Anyone know?

Always looking for ideas....

Also, how much room is below the passenger seat? Enough for a 1-1/4" square relay and a small control box?

Any ideas in figuring out how much room is under that seat? gobs of play-doh or something??? hmmm....

Has anyone drilled into the bottom of their trunk to pass wires through and install stuff there? Yes??? NO???

TIA as always!

I have two of those square relays mounted on that plastic pan in the rear area next to the frame with room to spare.

Yup, I have additional lights on my trunk. and a 5 wire to 4 wire system converter, I drilled a hole just big enough to force the wires through and sealed it up with RTV. I used a 5 wire flat trailer connector with the connectors external to the trunk so that I can unplug and remove the trunk...

There isn't much room under the passenger seat. The area I had mentioned before is behind the passenger back rest. Couple bolts (3 I believe) inside the trunk and the passenger back rest lifts off (up). You'll see the hollow area on either side of centre. That is where I put a fuse block.

As for wiring into the trunk I put a usb charge port on the back wall of the lid. Once you take the passenger back rest off you'll see how much room there is and an area you can drill thru. Take your time drilling....remember it is only ABS plastic and you don't want to generate heat.

I'll see if I can find time after work tonight to take a couple pictures.
