ReinyRooster Posted April 2, 2017 #1 Posted April 2, 2017 Looks like my battery is toast....won't even take a charge so......which battery is everyone suggesting now-a-days? Have had good luck with Odyssey. Can anyone tell me which Odyssey model I need for an 06 RSV? Thanks
Guest divey Posted April 2, 2017 #2 Posted April 2, 2017 Deka ETX20L. Very good battery in my view. Ordered mine from Sask. Battery but you can find them around your part of the country I'm sure. Doug
XV1100SE Posted April 3, 2017 #3 Posted April 3, 2017 There is a Deka dealer in Kitchener just off of Victoria (West side). Let me know if you need their name
2WHEELSFORME Posted April 3, 2017 #4 Posted April 3, 2017 This is a good one. https://www.amazon.com/Yuasa-YUAM620BH-YTX20HL-BS-Battery/dp/B000MX2ORM/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Yamaha%7C1210&Model=XVZ1300TFM%20Royal%20Star%20Midnight%20Venture%7C20649&Year=2005%7C2005&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&s=automotive&vehicleId=3&vehicleType=motorcycle
bongobobny Posted April 3, 2017 #6 Posted April 3, 2017 Odessey batteries have priced themselves waaaaay out of the market, so go with the Deka...
Guest Posted April 4, 2017 #8 Posted April 4, 2017 Dang, bike batteries have gotten expensive!! Like the Odyssey but waaay too much money. Picked up a Deka out the door for $146.00. Ouch.
saddlebum Posted April 5, 2017 #9 Posted April 5, 2017 Still worth the money. Picked up mine from ACME battery in Hamilton for $89.00 CA compared to $120.00 US and it is going into its 5th year and still going strong.

Mike G in SC Posted April 6, 2017 #11 Posted April 6, 2017 I got the Yuasa YTX20HL-BS 320 CA Glass Mat for my RSTD. The lesser one is the YTX20L-BS 270 CA I got mine from the local Yamaha shop. It's the same as in my Goldwing GL1800 trike. But here is a link to Amazon Yuasa's. (we are Prime customers so free ship) https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=yuasa+ytx20hl-bs The 320 CA is $94. I strongly advise to NOT buy Advance Auto batteries for the bike. I had two that did not last a year. Honda shop told me they do not have enough lead in them to make a year.
Snaggletooth Posted April 6, 2017 #12 Posted April 6, 2017 You won't regret the DEKA AGM.. Mine was 5 years old when I replaced with a new one. Didn't have to.... still was at 25% battery life. But was planning a few months on the road so I didn't want risk it. My old one is still in a friends riding mower. Still starts everytime.

Looks like the battery in my 2005 is also "Pouched!". Where did you p/u your battery in the KW area? I'm in Waterloo and hope to get one this weekend. Thanks, Steve
thecount Posted April 18, 2017 #14 Posted April 18, 2017 There is a Deka dealer in Kitchener just off of Victoria (West side). Let me know if you need their name Hello Don, YUP, I'm still alive and breathing air! Just crawling out from under the workload. Discovered the battery is DOA! What dealer name is the place to pick up this battery off Victoria St? Out past the Mercedes dealer? Thanks Steve
