Leland Posted March 30, 2017 #4 Posted March 30, 2017 Canon City Skyline Dr. While you are in Canon City, I suggest that you make the short trip over Skyline Dr. http://royalgorgebridge.com/tag/skyline-drive/
gmarshall Posted March 30, 2017 #5 Posted March 30, 2017 Yes, do the skyline drive. I think you'll like the ride thru Colorado on us 50. A great place for eats and a brew is the Horsefly Brewery in montrose. If you want to go a little of your planned route, I suggest Colorado National Monument outside Grand Junction. It is spectacular. Gary
djh3 Posted April 1, 2017 #6 Posted April 1, 2017 So I'm guessing your not going to International in Wisconsin. I had seen in a post early on you were talking about going up for it. Thought I might look into tagging along.

Have fun out there my friend!! PS - abandoned gas stations with the overhangs remaining where the pumps used to be, Cemeterys, Church lawns (except on weekends), sub station and water tower driveways make the best "in town" emergency campgrounds if ya cant find a VR members driveway or get kicked off the Burger King lawn..
Dragonslayer Posted April 4, 2017 #8 Posted April 4, 2017 Ok you peaked my interest. I've been thinking about one last road trip on the open road and the Grand Canyon, four corners area, red rock k country on motorcycle has been on my bucket list. I'd like to know more about your plans and I'm not getting a good read by turn by turn directions. Can you elaborate a little more on what yours plans, schedule and itinerary is. Although I do love to travel with a minimum of plans and itinerary. I would probably catch up with you at Bainbridge from Atlanta but need to know about trip duration to plan around real life.
Cowboy Posted April 4, 2017 #9 Posted April 4, 2017 I would like to make a suggestion for roads while you ride in Colorado & Utah. Colorado Highway CO149 @ Gunnison, Lake City, Creede, South Fork. ( Amazing Waterfall on the East side of the road just south of Lake City. Utah Highway 14 West off of US89 over to Cedar Breaks National Monument ( Amazing Ride thru Mountains of over 10,000 feet with great Cedar Trees galore.) Circles back to US89 just north of Bryce Canyon turn. Just the wife's and mine 2cents worth. It is worth the time. Brian & Sherrie Shoemaker
