cwhite123174 Posted March 29, 2017 #1 Posted March 29, 2017 Any of you guys have problems with them? Works fine. Just doesn't seem to hold the car charger very well. Constantly rattles itself out and I have to reach down and click it back in. Good ole Eusa1.... Mike, has a spare I will be getting from him.
Bert2006 Posted March 29, 2017 #2 Posted March 29, 2017 Fuse blew out first time I used it. I have since started to plug things directly to battery through dedicated circuits.

Jcgfree Posted March 29, 2017 #4 Posted March 29, 2017 I have the same problem as I plug my GPS in it. Rattles itself out enough to lose connection ever so often. I took a piece of this cardboard from a parts box and wedge it in there like a shim on the side of the plug when I plug in.
cwhite123174 Posted March 29, 2017 Author #5 Posted March 29, 2017 Yeah. I do the same thing but I was curious how many other RSV owners have had the same issue. This method works but I want to make it right, if ya know what I mean.
djh3 Posted March 30, 2017 #6 Posted March 30, 2017 I found it more to be the 'type" of plug. My Garmin would back out, so I wired it up with its own plug eventually. Problem solved. Then I started for a little bit a del plug before I made the dedicated power. One side for GPS one side for phone. You know that cheap ole piece of junk would stay in no problems. Then I tried my phone charger in the plug and it was hit and miss. I put the duel plug splitter in and it fine So I just went with that for a long time until the duel plug died. So Maybe the plug itself (GPS/phone). I know if it is a longer plug with the like 45 on it they se to walk out more on me. Good luck.
videoarizona Posted March 30, 2017 #7 Posted March 30, 2017 Maybe something like this will help... https://www.amazon.com/Marine-Grade-Cigarette-Lighter-Socket/dp/B0002KRC5Y Regardless, I tapped into the socket wiring inside the fairing and ran a 2 plug wire out and it's on the handlebar. So I have a secure connection if I need it.
djh3 Posted March 30, 2017 #8 Posted March 30, 2017 I finally just cut to the chase and installed one of these and then used a USB cord to fit phone and the same for the GPS. the heat shrink connection @ USB to seal. Made it less messy also as I could tie wrap the wires with the clutch and brake hoses.
M61A1MECH Posted March 30, 2017 #9 Posted March 30, 2017 If anyone wants to tap into the two pin connector inside the fairing, shoot me an email or PM I have a plug and play set up for that.

That's what I did with your parts. Now...do you have a 1 into 3? Thinking of adding some LED's to my front fairing and need another couple of taps!! Grins!

Thinking of adding some LED's to my front fairing and need another couple of taps!! Grins! I can make what ever you like, if you want to tap into the running lights or turn signals I have special custom made 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 bullets that will let you tap into those easy as pie. Send me a PM or E-mail and we can figure out what will suit you the best.
