GolfVenture Posted March 24, 2017 #1 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm planning a 7 day vacation in Las Vegas the last full week in August. I know it will be hot but thats the way the cookie crumbled. Please send me your recommendations. 1) Places to Eat 2) Shows to See 3) Places to Visit (Less than 2 hours drive) 4) Others Thanks
BlueSky Posted March 24, 2017 #2 Posted March 24, 2017 It depends on what you enjoy. The Grand Canyon isn't that far away. And a little farther will get you to Monument Valley. I really enjoyed Monument Valley where John Ford filmed all those John Wayne western movies. All of the shows I've been to were great. Most of the ones I've been to are the Cirque de Soliel shows. My wife even won about $300 playing the slots last time. I think I lost $20.
Condor Posted March 24, 2017 #3 Posted March 24, 2017 Last time we stayed at the Monte Carlo. It was right in the middle of all the theme 'parks'. That'll keep you busy for many days and cool too. One day you might schedule a helo ride over the Grand Canyon. Great experience. The Hoover Dam tour.
Karaboo Posted March 24, 2017 #4 Posted March 24, 2017 I just got back from a Navy reunion in Vegas on Tuesday morning. Went to the Dam tour (elevators were not working), Fremont Street (pretty cool if you go with the flow), did the High Roller ferris wheel and went to Piff the Magic Dragon in the Flamingo. Did not do the grand canyon tour, but have been there before. Lots of free stuff to do and a LOT of real expensive stuff to do. It only hit 90 degrees over the weekend. Not bad.
Sailor Posted March 24, 2017 #5 Posted March 24, 2017 High roller is neat, even better at night. Valley of Fire is great. Hoover Dam. Fremont street is fun, especially later at night when the odd balls come out.
CMCOFFEY Posted March 24, 2017 #6 Posted March 24, 2017 Are you going to be in a cage or on a bike? Que Mas is my favorite Mexican food here. All of the Cirque de Solei shows are great. For cheap tickets, get to Tix for Tonight each morning and see what they have. Also let me know if you need anything while you are here.
