ragtop69gs Posted March 19, 2017 #51 Posted March 19, 2017 Along with all that's been said about frame improvements , you'll also need to upgrade all the axle shackles, bolts & bushings to heavier duty units. I haul a lot of boats and the axle shackles are the most often part of the trailers we need to replace. Also, I think if you do some careful measuring of purpose built toy haulers you'll find the axle placement is different than the same unit that's not a toy hauler. A few inches can make a huge difference in weight distribution. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
bj66 Posted March 19, 2017 #52 Posted March 19, 2017 If you like tinkering etc. I'd watch sites like cranky ape and watch for toy haulers. Can be bought cheap. Most repos need some fixing of some sort.
