Toady we received a call from someone representing (supposeably) Citigo bank saying we were arrears on a Lowes credit account. I knew for fact my Lowes card had a zero balance owed with the card last used Feb 2016. They wanted us to pay $77 using our bank card. NOPE NO Way we're giving out that info over the phone.

After hanging up we called Lowes to verify the accounts info. They informed us we didn't owe them a dime and also said Citigo isn't used for their billings. Lowes thanked us and are going to follow up with their anti -theft units.

They, the scammers, were trying to get our bank info to skim off the funds there.

Moral of the story here is NEVER give out your info over the phone , especially if they're the ones who called you.

Can't ever be safe enough from these dudes.

Good on ya brother for being smart and not caving to em!!!!:happy34: Them nasty lowlife scammers are a disgusting lot.. Thing that really bugs me when I get calls like that is the question of how on earth they ever found out I had a "Lowes card" or what ever in the first place.. The shame is, its pretty hard for the authorities to :mugshot: em and there are way to many folks that fall for their scams.. We recently went down to our local bank and enrolled in a new account that piggy backs our regular account - was told by them that they (the Bank) use this new expedited Account to be a firewall against scammers like your talking about.. Safely navigating this electronic banking day and age can be more challenging than 20 miles of Smokey Mountain twisties on a fully loaded 2 up touring bike!:missingtooth:
