videoarizona Posted March 9, 2017 #1 Posted March 9, 2017 I have the 950 Tourer and need to put a new rear tire on her. I know some of you have had this bike before and may still...so I'm asking: Where do you position the lift underneath? I looked under there and have tried, but can't seem to get a good position for a simple lift!! So what am I doing wrong here?? TIA, david Must be me but I'm just not seeing where I can get both lift arms underneath...either bike is to wide??? or ??? Works fine on both Ventures...
djh3 Posted March 9, 2017 #2 Posted March 9, 2017 I had to build a frame of sorts like the carbon1 for my RSV. My 900 vulcan before I had to make shift with some 1x2 to make it level. Which reminds me I tripped over my lift adapter today and probably need to see if I can find it a new home. The victory part of the frame hangs down like that. Had to take a 2x4 about 4" long. Drill a 1 or 1 1/8 hole in center then cut the board in half so you cut the hole in too. the half hole lines up on the frame and goes on the lift arm so your not crushing important things under there.
bongobobny Posted March 9, 2017 #3 Posted March 9, 2017 A couple of pieces of 2X4's in the right place helps...
videoarizona Posted March 9, 2017 Author #4 Posted March 9, 2017 Yea....gotta find the right place though. It seems the bottom of the frame near the rear is at different levels from left and right. Guess to make room for something. So blocking up both sides evenly won't work. Gotta find a way to change that around.....I'm going to be cranking 110 foot pounds of torque on the axle nut off and on. Don't want scoot to tip over while I'm struggling with that. Thanks guys....
