sho_greg Posted February 18, 2017 #1 Posted February 18, 2017 Finally got the shaft connected.. with the use of finger hole and camera. Decided to post video just in case someone wanted to see inside. This is drive shaft.... https://youtu.be/2nmp2me5syM
ragtop69gs Posted February 18, 2017 #2 Posted February 18, 2017 That should become a best seller in no time! 😉 Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Marcarl Posted February 18, 2017 #3 Posted February 18, 2017 Yep, thanks, interesting. Just make sure the yoke is at the bottom, transmission in neutral, shove the shaft to the yoke, push and turn, mostly seats things at first or second try.
bongobobny Posted February 18, 2017 #4 Posted February 18, 2017 You have no idea of how many of us have removed and greased the driveshaft, then reassembled and couldn't figure out why the rear wheel would not roll anymore because the driveshaft missed the U-joint and jammed up in the swingarm...
sho_greg Posted February 18, 2017 Author #5 Posted February 18, 2017 Someone remind me that there is a retaining clamp in there... I see it on the side. Wonder if it's missing off the shaft..
videoarizona Posted February 18, 2017 #6 Posted February 18, 2017 Finally got the shaft connected.. with the use of finger hole and camera. Decided to post video just in case someone wanted to see inside. Greg,Sorry I'm late to your party! I found a tip on this site somewhere and it worked very well for me. Simply rotate joint until it's orientated vertically. IE, the splined hole for the shaft is sitting in the center of the shaft tunnel and pointing slightly down in tunnel. Then insert shaft, keeping the front tip of shaft resting on tunnel and in center. The shaft tip will slip right in... Lifting up the ujoint end as it goes. My drive shaft was broken when I got the 89.... And I didn't know it. So this to was a godsend for me, as I was in and out a few times trying to figure out what was wrong! I also cleaned the tunnel first as best as I could reach. Thanks for video! PS. I still love the color of your scoot!!
vzuden Posted February 18, 2017 #7 Posted February 18, 2017 that video reminds me I am due to for a colonoscopy. Similar, isn't it?
