Anti-dives are a convenience not a necessity. The one proviso is that both forks work the same. If the missing pieces are actually part of the anti-dive then both sides should be disabled. You will be better off finding a set of MkII forks than spending money on refurbishing the MkI anti-dives. Assuming you are taking pix with your phone, I expect they can be easily rotated in the gallery edit feature before uploading them.
MiCarl Posted February 12, 2017 #3 Posted February 12, 2017 I've never been able to figure out for sure what they do. My best guess is they let the oil lock lift up under compression for a little less damping. Conversely, they would push it down during rebound for more damping. I personally wouldn't lose any sleep about not having them. If it were mine I'd be tempted to put one spring on each side and move on.

Max Posted February 18, 2017 #11 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Anyone selling any oil seal washers? I would like to purchase two! 26H-23146-00-00 This might be an option if you still need washers. Replaced mine last year due to corrosion. 'Skydoc' was prepared to fabricate washers if I couldn't find them. In the end, found a local fabricating machine shop that sliced a couple of SS washers off a matching pipe. Used course steel wool to smooth the edges. Attached my original sketch with dimensions. Edited February 18, 2017 by Max corrected washer
