Denny63 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Thinking of selling my 1999 Venture. Has just under 28,000 miles, good shape, good tires What should I be looking to get out of it? Bought a 99 with 70k just over a year ago for $2400. Ran good had straight pipes "LOUD". dirty and some chrome was pitted, battery was shot. Cleaned up nice put semi-stock exhaust on her and Battery so far. Live in Southern Wisconsin area.
WildBill1 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Thanks for your advice and knowledge I ordered my new bike yesterday, will be here in April Nice bike but why is it necessary too order a Harley ultra this day and time? Dealers in my area have a showroom floor full of them.
Triple J Posted February 19, 2017 Author Posted February 19, 2017 Nice bike but why is it necessary too order a Harley ultra this day and time? Dealers in my area have a showroom floor full of them. Up here in MN they don't get them in quite so early. They had the one I photo'd on the floor and I could have taken that one but being February and no where near the end of winter up here I know it won't be riding season until at least April-ish A few years ago we had 15" of snow May 2nd
WildBill1 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Enjoy your new bike when it comes in. Harley continues to improve their bikes they are nothing like what they were 30 or 40 years ago. I own three now and I much rather pull maint. or work on a Harley over a metric anytime just so much simplier
sho_greg Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 No real difference in a 99 and a 13.. mine is a 99... gave $2700 for it... 37k miles... cheaper insurance... cheaper property taxes... Tell me one thing that makes a 2010 or newer better than my 99... In my opinion that's why yamaha couldn't move new Venture bikes... what's the point to pay 14k for a bike that I can buy on craigslist for $4500...
