Air Ready Auto Posted February 6, 2017 #1 Posted February 6, 2017 So I'm kind of sloppy (lots of rum...) right now so sorry if this is a little off. Over the last month I have lost 2 grandparents, found out my father has prostate cancer, I have skin cancer, and some pencil neck in immigration rejected my wife's process causing us to have to resubmit the whole thing and we are out $13k that we already invested and it is going to be another $23k to complete it provided every paper pusher that lays hands on it doesn't freak out about something stupid like how a comma is misplaced... Sorry, venting on rum. Lots of rum. Cheep rum to boot. Maybe too much rum.

slowrollwv Posted February 6, 2017 #5 Posted February 6, 2017 I am so sorry to hear of your Grand parents passing and of your father and your cancer. Prayers up for both of you.
Freebird Posted February 6, 2017 #6 Posted February 6, 2017 Well, we all know that the Rum won't help solve the problems but sometimes I guess we just need to relax and try to forget about them for a little while. I sure hope things get better for you. That's a lot to take all at once. There are words that go something like "the Lord will never give us more than we can handle". I tell you, though, sometimes I wish he didn't have so much faith in me. Prayers with you, my friend.
Marcarl Posted February 6, 2017 #7 Posted February 6, 2017 Yep, I think that Don has it right, but you need to know Him for you to get it. There is a lot of comfort and guidance available with Him, and it costs absolutely nothing, in time or money. We can give you all kinds of nice words, come and hug you maybe, send you a bank roll, but all that doesn't help you a whole lot. Yes, it will give you some mental support, and maybe even ease your burden a bit, and so you have what I can give, prayer. May you find blessings, even in your time of trouble.
Air Ready Auto Posted February 6, 2017 Author #8 Posted February 6, 2017 Sober (mostly) now. I wasn't sure I actually wrote that last night. We were in the hospital yesterday with my grandmother as she passed. My father took it very hard as she was his last parrent and I had had a less than strong moment and took up the rum. (Paying for it a bit now...) It really isn't all the doom and gloom I made it seam. My fathers prostate cancer is in the early stages yet and I have a basal cell carcinoma which is just a simple surgery to remove, or so I'm told. My wife's immigration setback is annoying but nothing we can't overcome. I have 2 good jobs and she got a job working for a local school district as a special needs counselor which is what her degree is for and she loves her job. Also we were able to get the insurance through the district which is about 1/3 the cost of what we were paying through my job. All in all things aren't that bad. I just had a rum fueled vent last night. Thank you all for your prayers.
Leland Posted February 6, 2017 #9 Posted February 6, 2017 There is no problem so great that drinking can't make worse.
etcswjoe Posted February 6, 2017 #10 Posted February 6, 2017 You know sailors and rum, keeping you and yours in our prayers.
