Venturous Randy Posted February 2, 2017 #1 Posted February 2, 2017 Well, the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. Good, since he is only right about 40% of the time. I like going with the 60% that we will have a short winter. For us here in east Tennessee, it will be a fairly mild winter. Randy
T.J. Posted February 2, 2017 #2 Posted February 2, 2017 It has been a very mild winter so far in Michigan. At least here in O'l Lake Orion. But, it ain't over till it's over.
SilvrT Posted February 2, 2017 #3 Posted February 2, 2017 Snow and cold temps have stuck around here this winter much longer than normal and they're predicting snow again this weekend. I was out riding in warm sunny weather this time last year. I guess old man winter somehow knows I'm bikeless so he figures what the heck, he can't ride anyway, let's give 'em more winter LOL
Flyinfool Posted February 2, 2017 #4 Posted February 2, 2017 Around here 6 more weeks of winter means an early spring. So if the groundhog sees his shadow, getting 6 more weeks of winter is a good thing. But then since he is wrong 60% of the time it means that we have a lot of winter left to go.
bongobobny Posted February 2, 2017 #5 Posted February 2, 2017 I think the critter should be "ground" up into a sausage...
Motorcycle Mike Posted February 2, 2017 #6 Posted February 2, 2017 Why listen to them thar Yankee rodents when we have Gen. Beauregard Lee, the Georgia version of that one in Pa. He predicted an early spring. Been pretty mild down in Ga. anyway.
bongobobny Posted February 2, 2017 #7 Posted February 2, 2017 I looked at the calendar twice today and both times I counted 6 1/2 weeks until the first day of spring regardless of who did or did not see their shadow!!!
slowrollwv Posted February 2, 2017 #8 Posted February 2, 2017 Well it may be 6 more weeks of winter. My question is when is winter going to start? We have had less than 4" of the white stuff all year. :hurts:
Dragonslayer Posted February 3, 2017 #9 Posted February 3, 2017 Why listen to them thar Yankee rodents when we have Gen. Beauregard Lee, the Georgia version of that one in Pa. He predicted an early spring. Been pretty mild down in Ga. anyway. That's right "General Beauregard Lee " did predict an early Spring but, what else could he do it was near 70° again today. He also predicted that the Atlanta Falcons would beat the New England Patriots 41to 21 in the Super Bowl this Sunday. Not saying, just saying. It is also true that he is lured out of his hutch each year by hash browns served by the Waffle House, scattered, smothered and covered.
Yammer Dan Posted February 3, 2017 #10 Posted February 3, 2017 Got a Big Groundhog that lives under a Oak on my place. He didn't stick his nose out!!
camos Posted February 4, 2017 #11 Posted February 4, 2017 Any ground hog around here got sealed in for a while. We ended up getting over 4" yesterday.
