Soul Posted January 23, 2017 #1 Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) After having my bike almost stolen from work, and the person destroying my ignition switch in the process, I decided it was time to complete a few upgrades on the bike. I have created PDF version of them all. Any info anyone requires I can provide but these are just the basics on what I did with what parts and how. Wireless Upgrade: Wireless Ignition.pdf I completed this project as proof of concept, and to correct the ignition switch that was destroyed. I personally love the idea of starting the bike in my driveway on cold mornings and letting it warm up. I did not bypass any logic on the bike so if I want to start the bike I have to have it in neutral and for cold mornings have the choke out. I have future plans to install a servo to pull the choke out for me based on temperature but for now im happy. I also have plans to upgrade from the wireless board used in build to an arduino micro computer and have it Bluetooth controlled. Stereo modifications: Stereo Modifications and antenna upgrades.pdf I have modified my bike to remove the antennas, the tape deck and the CB unit as I didn't like the look of the antennas on the bike and impeded my cover always having to fold them down to cover up the bike. I never used the CB unit as I didn't have the compatible helmet for it nor have a group of people who would use it. The tape deck I removed as I wanted the storage space and don't have tapes. Light upgrades: Light upgrades.pdf I found that the bikes stock lights were terribly underpowered and I couldn't see on a good day when driving at night. So I purchased the LED and Halogen and upgraded, I can am now Highly visible and my headlight is bright as day. I also ran into the ypical problem we have where the signal lights were filled with water as they weren't properly sealed. Cheers, and looking forward to critques! I also have plans to upgrade from the wireless board used in build to an arduino micro computer and have it Bluetooth controlled. I have the by-pass relays already built. I also make the 3 wire by pass for "keyless" you put your own switch in. I made these for a couple guys who's ignition switch already bought the farm, and they use a hidden toggle switch. all items are plug and play. PM me if your interested. No cutting or soldering these parts plug in to factory harness. I'm thinking all you would need is the wires that use to go to the switch, cut them off and connect those to your wireless rig.
Soul Posted January 24, 2017 Author #4 Posted January 24, 2017 i realized after my post you all would want pictures, i currently have to do some maintenance on the bike that requires me to remove almost all of the items i took of last time. I will take the pics required and attach them in a reply this weekend. Thanks DJh3 for the option but mines already installed the pdf's are just my steps i took. Rather not undo all the work and the 3 wire setup i ran into the board the first time. That is how Relay A got fried I was posting the original thread form work where i didnt have access to take pictures. They will come however!
