mralex714 Posted January 21, 2017 #1 Posted January 21, 2017 I got this starter clutch from Caltric and it looks cracked at those 3 screws. This is the second one and they were both the same. Do I need to be concerned about this or should I return it?
retrostude Posted January 25, 2017 #2 Posted January 25, 2017 Those are very straight "cracks" and all 3 are at same angle. They could be intentional.... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
mralex714 Posted January 27, 2017 Author #5 Posted January 27, 2017 I don't see the point of a crack on purpose, a crack at a screw hole is not good. The second one I got was the same. I sent a picture to Caltric they offered me a refund with no explanation about the cracks.
snyper316 Posted January 27, 2017 #6 Posted January 27, 2017 do those cracks go all the way down? It could have been some kind of guide for the machine. I know on Briggs engines when I was doing the drill press there was something similiar but can't tell you what the part was. It was just an order number too me.

If you look on the inner part of the clutch they run down the inner side. When I got the first one they provided a replacement without even wanting to see it or for me to return it. When I got the replacement and it was the same I sent a picture of what I was talking about. They did not respond and I had ebay contact them and the the offered the refund. This leads to me to believe that it's a problem and they know about it.
