Been a customer for 10 plus years... Recruited family to drop Dishnetwork for DirecTV in the past. But since this ATT merger- DirecTV is awful. Prices keep going up.. and just not happy.

GoodBYE DirecTV!! I will find things to do with my $130 every month.

I left them a short time ago.

Tell them you are leaving and they will give you better deal for about a year. We have gotten calls and Emails wanting us to come back but I already switched to new Wave for internet and tv, from Direct and Windstream. Saving about $30/mo and went to 100 MBPS from 6 MBPS.

After the big homeowner dishes went away the price of satellite TV just kept creeping up. Cable does the same thing. I had one of the old like 10ft dishes in Oklahoma. Had to pay for a service that would get me network like ABC

I had 150mbps, now I have 45mbps and honestly, unless I'm up or downloading very large files I don't see any difference. For the occasional times I do a large file I just pick a time when I'll be walking away anyhow.

Most computers are only capable of handling around 75mbs, so all the 150 should do is allow you to use two computers downloading large files. The only reason I have 100mbs is so I could get unlimited Internet.. Or i would have stuck with my 50mbs.

I called Suddenlink today they told me if I made changes my internet would be $103 a month for the unlimited. If I dropped speed to 50 mbs I would get the 150gb data cap... For $85 a month.. So guess I will start looking elsewhere but even stouffers wants $95 a month for 30mbs and 1.5mbs up.... Its brought in by radio antenna of sort with 3 pointy things pointing outward at base of antenna. But its unlimited. The problem I have heard from ppl about that is it goes down in rain and wind...

I have Comcast on the living room & family room TVs and for internet, all the other TVs in the house (bedroom, basement play room, workshop) are on ChromeCast and fed from the phone with Netflix or YouTube. I've been looking into getting a cracked firestick but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

AT&T recently bought DirectTV and now they are trying to buy Time Warner unless our corrupt Congress denies them of their desired monopoly. I hope they are denied.

Well me crumcast bill showed up yesterday. It was higher than I expected and so I compared to last months bill. The rental cost on the DVR just about doubled, same for the box in the bed room and the digital converter in the office. The DVR and the bedroom box are like DVD player size, the one in office is 4"x2". So if my TV is "cable ready" why can I not get channels on them? It sucks I guess comcast scrambles it or something.

That's correct, they scramble the signal so you can't run cable to the tv. BUT ! What you can do is use the xfinity app on your phone to stream your cable programming to any wifi capable tv., this way you do not need their box, saving you either 5.99 or 9.95 depending on the box. Only drawback to that is having to keep your phone plugged into the charger and connected to the wifi.

When my Contract ended in December my bill jumped $40 then the following bill jumped another $10 ! Needless to say I'm no longer a "crumcast" customer.

When I took all my equipment to the xfinity store to cancel thats when the rep there told me I could have streamed from phone to tv! Why wasn't i told that before I canceled? 😠

The Comcast App on my phone & tablet is not Cast-able to my Vizio Chromecast TV in the basement. Do you have a work around or is there something I'm missing?

If so I might be buying a few new TV's and dropping the extra cable boxes in the house.

I was not able to try it, I cancelled my service. The rep at the xfinity store told me it was an option I could employ. I'm sure a bit of googling will give the answers you seek.

If you have an Iphone, Ipad, MacBook, etc., they have "AirPlay". With my Apple TV box, anything that I can see on my phone can be linked to any TV with the Apple TV box connected to it.

I have several friends and relatives that have gotten rid of their cable/satellite TV services and went with a combination of: Sling TV, Roku (or Apple TV), and Netflix or Hulu, and they love it.

For $25.00 per month, Sling TV gives you a bunch of the cable channels and sports channels, or you can add $5.00 and get more sports channels. Then you get Hulu or Netflix for $10.00-$11.00 per month, and that gives you options for network shows and movies. Then the Apple TV, Roku, or Chromecast gives you other apps you can use. Finally, hook a high def antenna to the TV and you can get your local stations for free.

Just remember, since all of this runs off of Wifi, a very strong/fast internet service is needed to get the optimum performance.

Having said all of this, I haven't went this route yet. I'm still using AT&T UVerse and cussing everytime i get my bill each month. Two things have caused me to not make the change yet: 1. My wife and I LOVE our DVR and the ability to tape everything and watch it on our own schedule. 2. I'm being lazy and haven't generated enough gumption in myself to get it all changed. Lol.

But, my friends and relatives sure are loving it though.

Lenny, after pricing fast internet and adding all the cost of streaming services, Uverse U300 with 45mbps Internet was less expensive with me being able to take advantage of their new subscriber discounts.

I am gonna check into one of them antenna's that dad had on our house. I already got the amp so all I need is a better antenna, Even if I were to take out all my tv, and get all the apps. Takes my bill back over $140 a month. I don't need 100mbs but it is the only service they offer with unlimited. So right now my bill is $135 w/o taxes and fees. I have contacted whisper today to get services started only to be told there is too many trees, and with 10mbs service if that situation changes is $95.92 but its unlimited and only internet. I asked about the trees because I don't have any blocking me from the southern sky and they told me it isn't a satelite it is an antenna and the trees would block the signal. Also contacted Hughes net and they tell me there is 40gb data cap a month. and its $60 a month. Top all that I have to pay like $500 just for the equipment. So I said let me get this straight I have to pay $500 for equipment and get a measley 40gb cap. Anyone have any suggestions I haven't heard of?
